Garden Thieves Pictures begins to accept Bitcoin for payments
Move highlights corporate philosophy of connecting films with audiences through their preferred devices and platforms.
Feb 5, 2014
Washington, DC – Garden Thieves Pictures, LLC, a DC-based independent film production and distribution company, today announced that it will be expanding the number of ways audiences can access its films by offering the option of using Bitcoin for certain transactions. Bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency, has become an increasingly popular form of payment since its inception nearly four years ago. As the number and type of industries accepting bitcoins (as the denomination of currency are known) has expanded, Garden Thieves will become one of the first digital entertainment content providers to enable Bitcoin transactions. Visitors with a Bitcoin Wallet who wish to purchase our film titles can now select a Bitcoin payment option which enables fast, simple payment without currency conversion or transaction fees. The payment interface will offer the option of completing the transaction with a Bitcoin address or link seamlessly with a Coinbase account - or follow instructions on how to set one up.
